Eldercare robot helps people sit and stand, and catches them if they fall

A team of MIT engineers built the "Elderly Bodily Assistance Robot, or E-BAR, a mobile robot designed to physically support the elderly and prevent them from falling as they move around their homes. See more here.

Interesting idea but looks a bit bulky to be practical. Maybe a more feasible approach would be an exoskeleton?
